Planning Your First Pet Toy Production Order

A first production order involves more than choosing a product. A shared order checklist helps the buyer and supplier keep specifications, timing and responsibilities aligned.

Freeze the product specification

Record the approved sample version, drawings, materials, color references and included accessories. Changes after approval should be documented with their impact on cost and schedule.

Confirm order and packaging details

Agree on quantities by version, individual packaging, carton configuration, labels and artwork. Ask for written confirmation of any order minimums and the conditions attached to them.

Define inspection expectations

Discuss inspection stages, test methods, acceptance criteria and the records you expect to receive. Confirm any sampling plan with the supplier rather than assuming a standard automatically applies.

Plan the handover

Confirm the delivery term, destination, packing information and shipment documents with the parties responsible. Product, packaging and logistics decisions should use the same final specification.

Keep a record for repeat orders

Save the approved sample reference, inspection notes and final artwork. After delivery, consolidate feedback from your team so a repeat order starts from a clear record instead of a new set of assumptions.
